Patients Willing To Try Televisits

Telemed artPatients are willing to choose televisits over conventional office visits, according to a recent Health Industry Distributor Association (HIDA) survey. Leading reasons for choosing telemedicine include convenience and lower cost. Crucially, telemedicine may offer providers an additional way to strengthen relationships with patients.

HIDA recently released an infographic detailing patients’ thoughts on and experiences with telemedicine. The majority (54%) of patients report their televisit was superior to a regular office visit, and 59% report they plan to increase televisits in 2017. Notably, patients are more than twice as likely to have a televisit with their own provider, rather than use a telemedicine service.
