After a two-year effort to streamline healthcare processes among distributors, manufacturers, group purchasing organizations, and providers, HIDA unveiled its new white paper Improving Pricing Accuracy: Best Practices in Contract Communications during a special session at its 2014 Streamlining Healthcare Conference.
Nearly 40 companies came together during a 2014 Contract Administration Workgroup — a summary of issues is provided by participating member Denise Odenkirk, Senior Director, Industry Solutions, GHX — to discuss the urgent need for increased transparency in supply chain pricing. “This is a huge initiative we will continue in 2015, aimed at making our supply chain leaner and less costly,” said Elizabeth Hilla, HIDA Senior Vice President.
HIDA’s white paper offers detailed procedures for automation of contract management processes, including price authorization acknowledgements, chargeback reconciliations, and manufacturer price/sales catalog. The paper can be downloaded for free from www.HIDA.org.
